At Monza, Hamilton won from pole — his sixty-ninth career pole, setting a new all-time record and breaking Michael Schumacher’s mark. Bottas was second; Vettel finished third after starting near the back due to grid penalties, with Ricciardo fourth in a late charge. The race grid was widely described as farcical, with 150 cumulative grid-place penalties applied and only four drivers starting from their qualifying positions.

Practice

Ricciardo went fastest in FP1 at 1:42.489, ahead of Vettel and Verstappen. Championship leader Hamilton was only fourth. Ricciardo also led FP2, with Verstappen and Hamilton behind.
