Lewis Hamilton enters the weekend as championship leader with a seven-point lead over Max Verstappen.

At Bahrain, Hamilton won from Verstappen, with Bottas completing the podium. Verstappen overtook Hamilton on lap 53 but was ordered to give the place back after exceeding track limits. Norris finished fourth; Pérez recovered from a pit-lane start — caused by stalling on the formation lap — to fifth.

Pirelli brings the C2, C3, and C4 compounds, the same selection as used at Bahrain.

Practice

Bottas was fastest in both FP1 and FP2. FP1 was red-flagged twice: first after Pérez and Ocon made contact at turns five and six, then after Mazepin crashed at turn 18. FP2 was interrupted by a virtual safety car when Verstappen stopped on track, and later by a red flag when Leclerc crashed his Ferrari at the end of the session. Verstappen led Norris and Hamilton in FP3.
