Lauda leads by ten points after three consecutive wins at Monaco, Belgium, and Sweden. Reutemann has moved past Fittipaldi into second place.

At Anderstorp, Reutemann took the lead from Brambilla mid-race before Lauda worked his way through the field on a harder tyre compound, setting a series of fastest laps to overhaul Reutemann with ten laps remaining. Regazzoni and Brambilla completed the Ferrari-dominated top three. Brise earned Graham Hill’s team their first constructor’s point before his gearbox jammed.

Practice

Zandvoort does not hold a Sunday morning warm-up session — the only round on the calendar without one. During Friday practice, Jean-Pierre Jarier crashes; the Maki team’s weekend ends abruptly when their engine goes up in smoke. James Hunt’s extra laps on Saturday afternoon — sent out after rain meant the session times could not improve — reveal a broken component in his metering unit. Without those unscheduled laps, the failure would not have been found before the race.
